Ilene S. Ruhoy, MD, PhD is a board-certified neurologist and founder and medical director of the Center for Healing Neurology, an integrative neurology practice in Seattle, WA. She is also the new medical director for the EDS/Chiari Center at Mt. Sinai South Nassau Hospital. In addition to neuromuscular fellowship training at the University of Washington, she graduated from the University of Arizona Integrative Medicine Fellowship. Her PhD is in Environmental Toxicology.  She is the co-editor of Integrative Neurology, published by Oxford Press in July 2020.

Combining her neurology and integrative medicine training along with her background in environmental toxicology, Dr. Ruhoy specializes in complex and chronic neurological disorders including patients with Ehler-Danlos Syndrome. She has an interest in management of the neurological manifestations of this disorder and is involved in several physician groups working to raise awareness and educate physicians about EDS as well as contribute to research to further our understanding of this not uncommon but complex connective tissue disorder. This is why she is proud to be a member of the EDSRF Medical Board to be part of the great work they do on behalf of this patient population for continued education and research on innovative treatment and management modalities.
